2016: The Tower Card #16?

It must be 20[16]
Dubai hotel fire: At least 16 injured as officials probe cause of blaze at The Address Downtown hotel
The Tower is the sixteenth card in the Tarot deck and of course this year is 2016 and notice in the news story that 16 people were injured in the tower that caught fire on New Year's Eve?
"The Tower is commonly interpreted as meaning danger, crisis, destruction, and liberation.
This card follows immediately after The Devil in all Tarots that contain it, and is associated with sudden, disruptive, and potentially destructive change."
Interesting also for Sync-heads who just love the number 42 is that the movie The Towering Inferno was released 42 years ago this year.
""We May Never Love Like This Again" is a song written by Al Kasha and Joel Hirschhorn for the 1974 film, The Towering Inferno
It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1974, and was performed by Maureen McGovern both for the film score and, briefly, in the film itself with McGovern portraying a singer.
McGovern had performed a cover version of Kasha and Hirschhorn's song "The Morning After", which also won the Academy Award for Best Original Song two years earlier."
Lived Long and Prospered?
Interestingly, with last year being 2015 and the Year of the Goat, card #15 in the Tarot is the Devil card with a pair of lovers in chains.
One of the songwriters of We May Never Love Like This Again was Alfred "Al" Kasha (Brooklyn, January 22, 1937) He was born on 01/2[2/37]
The Lovers?

He is best know for "The Morning After" from The Poseidon Adventure.
As above, so below?
On the subject of Cruise ships, Room 237 and The Shining, take a look at this weird Christmas news story -
Blood Drips From Cruise Ship Elevator 'Like Real-Life Scene From 'The Shining'
"A family’s Christmas cruise turned into a real-life horror movie when graphic video shows them coming across an elevator dripping with blood after an employee’s freak death.
Matt Davis said he was heading to dinner on board the Carnival Ecstasy Sunday near Miami when he and his wife Susan came across the horrifying sight.
"To look and see the elevator with just blood coming down like a sheet, and not stopping... it was a real life scene of 'The Shining,'" he told WFTX-TV while comparing it to the 1980 horror film which featured a similar sinister scene."

Luckily Tarot cards can be reversed as well.
"The Tower Reversed can indicate an end to your difficulties, a health scare that has turned out to be a false alarm, a calamity that was all a lot of hot air, a storm in a tea cup ... Damage limitation is key if you are to whether the storm."
The Tower (XVI) Reversed
Notice when the card is reversed the guy with the red cape looks like he is flying like Superman?

Superman (1978 film)

"Kidder was supposed to sing "Can You Read My Mind?," the lyrics to which were written by Leslie Bricusse, but Donner disliked it and changed it to a composition accompanied by a voiceover.
Maureen McGovern eventually recorded the single, "Can You Read My Mind?," in 1979, although the song did not appear on the film soundtrack.
It became a mid-chart hit on the Billboard Hot 100 that year (#52), spending three weeks at number five on the U.S. Adult Contemporary chart, as well as making lesser appearances on the corresponding Canadian charts.
It also was a very minor hit on the U.S. Country chart, reaching #93."
I also find it kind of ironic that the man who played the 1978 Superman (Christopher Reeve) was from a movie that had the tagline,"you will believe a man can fly" and a Maureen McGovern song attached to it, but he would suffer a serious fall leaving him unable to walk for the rest of his life.
Ironic also was that the song from the Superman movie,"Can You Read My Mind?", would only reach as high as #52 and Reeve died of a heart attack at the age of 52 and was born in 1952, also.
2004 was the Year of the Monkey.
2016 is the Year of the Monkey from

UPDATE: 3rd January, 2016
Another elevator death on New Year's Eve.
Man Killed by Elevator Pushes Woman Out of the Way Moments Before, Wishes Her a "Happy New Year"
""Happy New Year" were a man's last words before he was crushed by an elevator in New York City on New Year's eve. The victim, 25-year-old Stephen Hewett-Brown, was crushed by an elevator at a Manhattan building just minutes before midnight. He would later die at a hospital."
And The Force Awakens passes Titanic in Box Office Gross.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens?
