Deadpool Takes Aim at the Dead Heart?

I can see this joke backfiring on Ryan Reynolds badly, but then maybe he realizes it will and like they say, there is no such thing as bad publicity when it comes to selling a movie.
Deadpool celebrates Australia Day with profane video message
"Deadpool is going global. In celebration of Australia Day on Jan. 26, Ryan Reynolds’ red-masked superhero has recorded a special message to the people down under, honoring their proud heritage.
Or, as he says, donning a safari hat with corks dangling off the brim, in a mock Aussie accent, “Its shady criminal past and its predilection for blackout drinking and unrelenting condescension towards New Zealand.”"
Like the double-edged swords Deadpool carries around with him, this message is at the same time funny and cringe worthy, depending on how you take it and just what Australia Day means to you personally.

It's water off a duck's back to me, but I can see it ruffling other people's feathers.
The Dead Heart is the nickname for the centre of Australia, by the way, or the heart of the country, usually represented by the big rock in the middle of the country.
Australia Day has also been known as Invasion Day in some circles, because it celebrates the day the British landed here, so it does have controversy surrounding the holiday on that date and it's not hard to see why, but most Aussies just celebrate the day because they love being and living in Australia and who wouldn't love and celebrate this place?
Black, red and yellow (not white)
are the colours of the indigenous flag
And while that cushion in the Deadpool video is probably just a bad coincidence, I couldn't help cringing knowing that with the black shadow of Deadpool's head cast across the cushion you have the three colours of the indigenous flag on a white background.

The Dead Heart Transplant?
While I'll admit it is a funny message, it could be seen as a bit heartless on another level.
But I'll give Ryan this much, it's always fun to take the piss out of the Kiwis;-)
