Blade Runner 2049: The Empire Never Ended?

In the words of PKD"... the Empire never ended" and this latest Blade Runner will probably have you wondering if Elvis will ever leave the building ... in our memories, that is;-)
The "Black Iron Prison"?!
There is an appearance by Marilyn Monroe, too ... talk about timing.
I went and saw 'Blade Runner 2049' yesterday and I will be seeing it again next week and you can forget what this "blind" reviewer wrote about the movie -
Did we both watch the same movie Jason Di Rosso?
Because you seem to have as much vision when it comes to reviewing this film as a replicant maker yourself;-)
Forget reviews like Jason's and go see it for yourself, because it's another classic that I don't think pretends to replace the first ... pardon the pun.
Ironically, the way we (Australian) countries in the British Empire write dates like 6/10/21 would make that date carved on the tree the 6th of October, 2021 and today is the 6th of October, 2017, which is one day after the film was released over here.
And on the subject of that tree in the new 'Blade Runner 2049' movie, I couldn't help thinking how that tree reminded me of another tree I've seen recently;-)
Is that 'Blade runner 2049' or
'Twin Peaks: Firewalk With Me'?-)
'The Arm' of the Law?
And those two shows do have similar Las Vegas themes running through them, as well.
Vegas showgirls in 'Blade Runner 2049'
Vegas showgirls in 'Twin Peaks: The Return'
And let's not talk about Joi-dy ... I mean Judy;-)
'The Man Who Fell to Earth' starring David Bowie
A scene from David Lynch's disowned movie 'Dune'
White Sands/Dune?-)
Oh, and if you have been following Chris Knowles' posts about the siren song over at The Secret Sun blog, then keep an eye out ... pun intended ... in 'Blade Runner 2049'.
The Little Mermaid/Siren Meme?
Sometimes the owls just aren't what they seem, wouldn't you say?
